This nature house is only accessible by boat. We welcome you at our house where the car can stay and then we bring you and your luggage to our cottage. For a good start you can immediately make a nice cup of filter coffee, nespresso coffee or tea. For transportation during the stay you have two punters with whisper motor at your disposal. These are included in the rental price. In addition to the punters, canoes, a volleyball net and a foosball table are available to complete the fun. In winter, the view of the cane cutters makes for a special spectacle. The wood stove in the room keeps you nice and warm and for the hot summer we have recently installed air conditioning. It is a wonderful cottage to unwind, to experience the special National Park "Weerribben-Wieden", to enjoy the water and water sports, to be together undisturbed and to relax.

As the name suggests, the nature house is located between reeds and meadows, on a large lake. That makes the nature house accessible only by boat. No people right next to you or nearby. In this vast nature reserve, the reeds, deer, cows, ducks, geese, hares, herons and many other animal species will be your only neighbors. Many animals feel safe in the pristine nature of this beautiful and special area. The silence, the peace and the view is what makes our cottage so unique!

This was truly a fantastic week at a fantastic location with fantastic hosts. They’d already sent us a Christmas card for Christmas 2025, even though we’d booked for June 19, 2026. Their hospitality and warmth are evident right from the moment you arrive. Coffee was waiting for us, and our luggage was loaded onto a boat that took us to the property. On the way, as we passed through a small section of Giethoorn, they shared fun and interesting facts. You won’t believe your eyes when you arrive—the cottage is tucked away in the reeds. There’s a boathouse with two electric boats and two canoes. Inside the nature house itself, you’ll find a modern, neat, and fully equipped kitchen where up to eight people can comfortably sit together. The middle section is a classically furnished living room with a well-stocked bookshelf and a wood stove. In the back section, there’s a TV, a cabinet with games, and an easel.
The bedrooms are simple and clean, as are the bathroom and separate toilet.
