Nature house in Tomar Junceira

In December 2013 the landlords bought and refurbished this old farmhouse. It stands on 7000 m2 of rolling land with a hundred olive trees, a small vineyard and many fruit trees such as orange, tangerine, lemon, apple, peach and quince. The location is very peaceful, quiet and private, but not isolated. Around the house there are a number of outbuildings; a small shed (converted into a second bedroom), a garage (for private use only), an old sheep barn, a utility room (with washing machine) and a large cellar. The landlords have created several sitting areas, in the sun and shade. For necessary cooling, they have made a swimming pool (1.80 by 2.2 meters) out of an old water storage tank. The living area has a living room with open kitchen, a bathroom with bathtub and shower, sink and toilet, and two bedrooms (both with a double bed). One of the bedrooms is inside the house and the other is next to the house in a former shed (you cannot get inside to this bedroom).

The farmhouse is located one kilometer outside the village of Junceira, where there is a small supermarket, a store for gardening supplies and a gas station/bar/restaurant. The larger town of Tomar is eight kilometers away. Here are most amenities such as a cinema, restaurants, cafes and large supermarkets. It is necessary to have a car as public transportation is hardly available here. The hilly area with a varied landscape of vineyards, forests and villages is fantastic for hiking. The farmhouse is very suitable for people seeking peace and quiet. Four kilometers away is the large reservoir Castelo do Bode, with fantastically clear water in which you can swim. The sea is an hour away.
