If you love spending your vacations in rural Netherlands, this cozy and fully equipped nature house, built in the “Icelandic style,” is the perfect place for you! This comfortably furnished nature house, with unobstructed views of the meadows and fields, sleeps two people (with the option to book up to two additional guests) and is located at the back of a farmhouse. The nature house features a lovely open kitchen equipped with all modern and functional amenities. The kitchen-living room faces southwest and overlooks the meadow and the falconry aviary. Ground floor layout: Entryway, toilet, kitchen-living room, private terrace. First-floor layout: Bathroom with shower, vanity, and toilet. Bedroom one with a spacious double bed; bedroom two with a queen-size bed, desk, lounge chair, and a door to the balcony with stairs leading to the garden. The cottage offers plenty of privacy and unobstructed views. The rental includes a kitchen, linens, and a towel package. Your bed will be made upon arrival.

The nature house is located in a rural setting within walking distance of Elp, a small, charming town with a hotel-restaurant and a pancake farm. Westerbork (4 kilometers) has charming shops and restaurants. The towns of Orvelte (a museum village), Rolde, Grolloo (the “blues village”), and Borger (the “Hunebed capital”), and the Westerbork Camp Memorial Center, are not far away. The surrounding area offers fantastic hiking and biking opportunities in the beautiful countryside. Right from the property, you can also take your dog along rural trails to the three forest districts of Hooghalen, Grolloo, and Schoonloo. In Ellertshaar, there’s a large off-leash area for dogs with a small swimming lake. The Boomkroonpad, recreational lakes, the Mantingerzand, and the Elperstroom (a Natura 2000 area just a stone’s throw away) are all well worth a visit. In addition to many bird species, foxes, badgers, roe deer, and even wolves (tip: “Het Wolvenpad”) can be found here in Drenthe. Thanks to its central location, the nature house is also ideal for day trips to the cities of Assen, Emmen, and Hoogeveen.
