Nature house in Hürtgenwald-Vossenack

The Nature house is built using only natural materials (wood, clay, oil-based paint and chalk). As forest guides of the Eifel National Park, we feel committed to the Eifel National Park. We want to contribute to the preservation of this unique natural landscape for us and our descendants. As long-time supporters of organic farming and consistent wholefood eaters, organic farming is a further step towards a holistic way of life. We want to convey the beauty of the landscape to our guests and enable them to experience nature with all their senses. Through our special training as National Park forest guides, but especially through our own passion for hiking and nature conservation, we can advise and accompany you competently.the Nature house is reduced electrosmog. Internet is available via land cable, you can switch Wi-Fi on and off as you wish.

Energy concept: In addition to our commitment to nature, climate-friendly behavior has long been important to us. We have initiated or are involved in several wind power and PV systems in the region and the Nature house has thermal insulation with hemp. The hemp comes from German cultivation. Great importance was attached to windproofness during construction and we have a large south-facing window front in the living room. The bedroom and bathroom face north-east, and we have had a solar heating system for hot water since 1995. We have been heating with wood from our own garden for thirty years. The amount of wood we grow seems to be greater than what we use. The heating is based on a low-temperature oil heating system installed in 1988 and the vacation home is located in a 5000 square meter natural garden with old trees, which also feeds us. Our specialty are the edible wild herbs, which you may also harvest, on request also under guidance. Honey, eggs from our hens, apple juice from our own trees and, depending on the season, vegetables from the garden are also available free of charge.
