Nature house in Ruinen

From this nature house, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of the meadows, the spacious yard, and the large garden pond, where deer often come to drink at dusk. You can spot many species of birds in the garden, and squirrels also make regular appearances. The detached 2-person lodge has its own south-facing terrace. The living/bedroom area is equipped with a flat-screen TV and Wi-Fi. The sleeping area features a double box-spring bed. The beds can also be separated if desired. The kitchen is in a separate room. It features a Nespresso coffee machine, an air fryer for toasting bread rolls and other items, a kettle, and a microwave. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, toilet, and sink. The spacious garden offers various seating areas, a large BBQ, and plenty of privacy. De Bosuil is located near the cottage De Eekhoorn. Here, you can fully enjoy the peace and space on and around the property. There is a charging station available for your electric bikes.

Our nature house is located in Dwingelderveld National Park, the largest wet heathland area in Western Europe and the quietest area in the Netherlands. Here you’ll find heathland, forest, shifting sand dunes, and over forty ponds. Thanks to the diversity in the Dwingelderveld, many plants and animals thrive here. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the unique landscape. You can hike, bike, run, ride horses, and watch birds from hides and behind screens. The Natuurmonumenten visitor center is within walking distance of our cottages, and the Ruinen sheepfold is nearby. It is the ideal base from which to explore the area. Charming villages such as Dwingeloo and Diever are well worth a visit, and a trip to the hunebeds is a must. The Drenthe National Park has three hunebeds. The village of Ruinen has several cozy restaurants and a supermarket.
