This nature house is for nature lovers who want to stay at a picturesque oasis. The guesthouse is located in the Green Heart of the Netherlands in an agricultural area, near Hazerswoude-Dorp, about 11 km from the city of Leiden. The accommodation itself is located on an island and can only be reached by boat (500 meters from the parking lot). Guests are guided from the parking lot of which they have their own whisper boat. There is a bicycle shed next to the parking lot. A large garden surrounds the nature house and visitors are welcome to explore it and taste the many organically grown herbs, vegetables and fruits in season. You can also enjoy the waterways by kayak or rowboat.
Nature and surroundings
Swans live on the waters of the Reed River. Other waterfowl that nest in this area include mallards, coots, coots, grebes and Canada geese. The shoreline of the islet/farm is intentionally kept natural with reeds so that waterfowl can raise their young and protect them from predators. The garden surrounding the nature house is also specially planted for the benefit of bees and butterflies. Fishing and hunting are not allowed.
