Centrally located in a nature reserve, within walking distance of the sea, this nature house is in an 1898 farmhouse. The front has been converted into an apartment for guests. Through a private entrance and hall you enter the new kitchen with large windows and lots of natural light. You have a bedroom with comfortable box spring and sitting area and a bathroom with large walk-in shower. There is parking in front of the door and bike storage for your own bike or you can borrow a bike on site. On the terrace you will enjoy the expansive views until the sun sets. Besides the residents, you are the only guests at this location in the middle of nature: Adults Only.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is centrally located in the nature reserve Harger- and Pettemerpolder, an authentic polder with winding roads and dikes. You can easily walk to De Putten, bird islands, and the wide beach between Camperduin and Petten. After a 10-minute bike ride you are in the wooded Schoorl Dunes with miles of hiking and biking trails. To the north, the Wildrijk and Zwanenwater nature reserves are easily reached by bicycle. After 10 minutes of cycling you reach the village of Groet with its picturesque church or you cycle further to the center of Schoorl or Bergen (10 kilometers) with many terraces and stores. Also Alkmaar, the cheese city with old canals and monumental buildings, is only 15 kilometers away. Or you bike towards Schagen (15 kilometers) via the Westfriese Omringdijk, a beautiful route along fields and villages. No beach weather for a while? Then visit Haarlem (50 kilometers) or Amsterdam (60 kilometers).
