Nature house in Faia Guarda

At the very back of the owners' vegetable garden, hidden in the shade of olive and chestnut trees, you will find this newly built garden house. It is a wonderfully comfortable, detached and private little apartment of about 40 m² with a large bathroom of 9 m² attached. The nature house is bedroom, living room and kitchen all in one, basically one large relaxation area with lots of windows and patio doors opening onto a large veranda for lounging. The hosts have kept it all very light and generous, in soft and Mediterranean colors. The sanded whitewood floor gives you the sensation of a sunny painter's studio. A warm breeze blows the voiles languidly inside. The bathroom is luxurious and modern, complete with rain shower, sink, toilet and bidet. From the garden doors, through which the morning sun streams in, you have a beautiful view of the vegetable garden and the lush Portuguese countryside from the wide covered terrace. The garden house is suitable for two people, if necessary a baby bed can be added.

The nature house overlooks the beginning of the Mondego valley. From the terrace you have a phenomenal view of the valley. You are actually "above the valley," to paraphrase Nescio, and at times that feels royal. The estate is on a ridge, and that means terraced land with many different fruit trees and vegetable plantings. Think olive trees, of course, but also almond, peach, cherry and fig trees. You'll also find melon, potato and pumpkin fields scattered throughout the property. The landlords have their own wells that secure the water supply for drinking and for irrigation. Right next to the cottage is a biologically purified swimming pool of over 250 m² in size. It is a wonderful place to relax, swim and sunbathe.
