We had tropical weather. The dining room was wonderfully cool. The rest of the house was very comfortable.
We enjoyed the garden, the large patio, and the porch. In the mornings, we all had breakfast together at the big garden table overlooking a meadow. In the evenings, we ate inside at the large dining table in the dining room because it was so nice and cool there.
Cooking on the large Boretti stove went great, too.

We hadden tropisch weer. De eetkamer was heerlijk koel. In de rest van het huis was het prima vertoeven.
we genoten van de tuin en het grote terras en veranda. s morgens met zijn allen ontbijten aan de grote tuintafel met uitzicht op een weiland. s avonds aten we binnen aan de grote eetkamertafel in de eetkamer omdat het daar heerlijk koel was.
Ook het koken op het grote boretti fornuis ging prima

A historic half-timbered house. It’s nice to stay in a house that’s typical of the region, and still enjoys modern comforts. The house has a lot of character, especially when it comes to the interior design.

monumentaal vakwerk huis. Leuk om in een huis te logeren wat typisch bij de streek past. En toch de gemakken van deze tijd te hebben. Het huis heeft heel veel sfeer, ook wat betreft de inrichting.

The house is beautiful and the garden is well-maintained.

We felt the price was too high for what we got, which is why we’re making the following comments. Some things (the kitchen and some bedrooms/beds, for example) are a bit outdated, and one of the bedrooms has no curtains or fan, so it got hot and light very early in the morning. Also, there was hardly any toilet paper when we arrived after a long trip. It might seem like a small thing, but it meant we had to go to the store right away. It would be nice and hospitable to at least have a full roll ready when guests arrive.

What really marred our weekend were the enormous numbers of flies, both inside and outside. The owner can’t really do anything about that, and it’s probably seasonal, but fly screens and fly covers to protect the food are essential—and those weren’t available. Four of us developed stomach problems after the weekend, and we suspect it was because of the flies.

Het huis is mooi en de tuin is goed onderhouden.

Wij vonden de prijs te hoog voor wat we kregen dus vandaar onderstaande opmerkingen. E.e.a. (keuken en sommige slaapkamers/bedden bv.) is wat verouderd en een van de slaapkamers heeft geen gordijnen en ventilator waardoor het er heet en al heel vroeg licht werd. Verder stond er nauwelijks wc papier toen we aankwamen na een lange reis. Iets kleins misschien maar we moesten daardoor meteen naar de winkel. Fijn/gastvrij als er in ieder geval een volle rol staat als mensen aankomen.

Wat voor ons het weekend tekende waren de enorme aantallen vliegen zowel binnen als buiten. Op zich kan de eigenaar daar niets aan doen en zal het wellicht seizoensgebonden zijn maar horren en vliegenkappen om het eten af te dekken zijn wel noodzakelijk en dat was er nu niet. Vier van ons hebben buikklachten gekregen na het weekend en we vermoeden door de vliegen.
