Nestled in the heart of the Carstenbos, in the beautiful Reestdal, this charming wooden guesthouse is tucked away at Buitenplaets de Bostuyn. Unwind completely in your own nature house on the edge of the forest. Book the Wellness package for complete privacy, featuring a wood-fired hot tub and/or outdoor sauna (closed on Wednesdays). Hiking trails ranging from 30 minutes to 30 kilometers start right from the nature house. Experience nature: In the evenings, you’ll often hear the tawny owl, and there are roe deer, badgers, and bats. Recently renovated with a new kitchen, bathroom, and porch. The gas stove with a cozy fire keeps the cottage nice and warm. The guesthouse features a kitchen with an oven and dishwasher, a shower, a toilet, a bedroom with a comfortable double bed, and a living area with a sleeper sofa. TV, internet radio, and Wi-Fi are available. You’ll have your own terrace with comfortable garden chairs. Coffee and tea are provided. In short, it’s the perfect getaway for peace, relaxation, and nature.

The Reestdal is the small river that forms the border between Drenthe and Overijssel; it remains in a fairly pristine state. The river still winds its way through the valley, and it’s a beautifully varied area for biking or hiking. The area is also known for its large populations of storks. The guesthouse is located between Reest and Boswachterij Staphorst, a large forest reserve featuring woods, heathland, a beautiful recreational area with a swimming lake, a dog-off-leash area, and the “Wet Noses Route”—an experiential trail—as well as mountain bike trails and numerous hiking and biking paths. Thanks to the convenient junction system, it’s very easy to plan your own routes. Zwolle, Meppel, Hoogeveen, and Giethoorn are all within 30 kilometers, and the Dwingelderveld, the Drents-Friese Woud, the Wieden, and the Weerribben are nearby. These are Natura 2000 areas and national parks with extensive recreational opportunities. Wildlands Emmen is a half-hour drive away. In the forest where the guesthouse is located, there are walking trails marked with posts for 30- and 50-minute walks, and there are three leisurely walking routes of approximately 10 kilometers that can also be combined into a single 30-kilometer walk.
