Nature house in Zuidwolde

Are you looking for a nice quiet place in a very simple somewhat old-fashioned cottage without luxury? Then you are welcome to come here and relax with a good book by a (brought) fire basket or in the hammock. The nature house is located on an old farmyard and is surrounded by hobby animals (chickens, sheep, ducks, guinea fowl, cats, etc), a wild edible woodland garden, a vegetable garden, and small orchard/sheep pasture. Everything is simply and "wildly" landscaped. Rather than subdue nature, we mostly let it take its course. If you are very fond of raked flower beds, another cottage might be a better choice. We like to share the space here with nature and animals, and if you like that too, we like to share the space with you.

The idyllic stream landscape of the small river Reest is well worth a visit. The river marks the border between the provinces of Overijssel and Drenthe. There are beautiful walking and cycling routes. It is a small-scale landscape with alternating heaths, fens, woods and farmland of mainly small, organic farms. It is also fun trailing through this area. Keep in mind in winter that it can be very wet. Het Drentse Landschap manages several beautiful areas in Drenthe. Here you can hike and bike. They also organize activities for young and old.
