This ydillic forest cottage is located in a particularly beautiful place. Entirely exposed by heath and forest, you imagine yourself abroad as you peer over the fens from the terrace. The cottage offers everything you need. Due to its unique location in the middle of a nature reserve, it is not connected to the water network but has its own groundwater supply. You will also find a fine country kitchen, as well as a central heating system, wood stove and underfloor heating. Upstairs are the two large bedrooms, each with a double bed. In a small room next to the kitchen on the first floor you will also find a single bed. The bathroom is simple but equipped with a separate shower and a bathtub. All in all, it is a real forest cottage. The decor is simple but that's precisely its charm. There is no Wi-Fi (although there is good 4 and 5g coverage) but all you really need is walking shoes and a good book.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is in the middle of Landgoed de Utrecht, a 2,500-acre nature reserve that (contrary to what the name suggests) is located in the Kempen region of Brabant. The garden runs into the nature reserve and from the seat you look right over the Heidevennen. From the cottage the possibilities for beautiful walks or bike rides are endless, because the nature reserve is large. Just like the variety of flora and fauna. For example, you will find insctenet plants (round sundew) and special butterfly flowers (bell gentian). Hear Beethoven's 5th through the woods? Chances are the Yellowhammer is in your neighborhood. Early walkers have a chance of running into a roe deer, sleepers can enjoy the flock of sheep scurrying across the estate. 20 min walk away is inn "in den Bockenreyder". A famous forest pub where little has changed since its establishment 100 years ago. On the way you pass the Flaestoren which gives you a view of the whole area.
