In the heart of Salland (Overijssel) lies this beautiful nature house. The nature house dates from 1923 and in the past the front part (now the kitchen) was used to bake bread, do laundry, cook fodder and live in it during the summer. The rear part served as a pigsty. In 2011 it was completely renovated and adapted as vacation accommodation for more than two people. The first floor has a spacious kitchen with every opportunity for cooking, a bathroom with washing machine, a cozy living room with an authentic look and an extra reading corner. A fixed staircase in the living room takes you upstairs to the bedroom, which can accommodate two people. You can also use the WiFi connection for free. Equipped with air conditioning, for hot days. The nature house has a private driveway and a small garden with seating area.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in the heart of Salland. In Salland you will find a wide variety of landscapes. The western border is formed by the beautiful floodplains of the river IJssel. The eastern border is formed by the National Park De Sallandse Heuvelrug, an enchantingly beautiful area with vast forests, hills and moors. The small-scale coulisse landscape in between, with old estates and manor houses, ensure that both hikers (Pieterpad) and cyclists get their money's worth. Would you like to know what a large part of Salland looked like until the end of the 19th century? Then take a walk through the Boeterlerveld Nature Reserve. Beautiful piece of natura 2000. It is within walking distance of the nature house. Start the day with a freshly laid egg for breakfast and a view of cows in the meadow and chickens scurrying around the cottage. The cottage is a stone's throw from Raalte, Nijverdal and the historic Hanseatic cities of Zwolle and Deventer.
