Nature house in Deventer

The nature house is a short distance from the city of Deventer. About 10 minutes by bike and you are in the center. Yet you are in the middle of nature and have a garden with its own orchard. The total garden is 2000 m² large and the only neighbors live 250 meters away.The house is outside the dike, so you experience the IJssel on all sides.The cows of Natuurderij Keizersrande walk in the meadows around you and the ships on the IJssel sail past you.The house consists of a spacious living room with views to all sides. The large windows make it seem as if you are in the middle of a nature documentary. In the spacious hall you will find the toilet and the bathroom. An ornate spiral staircase takes you to the ridge of the house, where two special bedrooms have been created. Namely, they have a window, from which you look out on the living world below and on the IJssel River outside. A warm and safe place where outside is still inside.

A stone's throw from the river IJssel lies the nature house. The former woodshed was built in the 50s in the lee of the floodplain and was part of the farm 100 meters away. When the farm lost its function in the 1980s, the woodshed was converted into a studio. In 2018, it was completely renovated into a sustainably converted, unique nature house in perhaps the most beautiful place in Deventer. As part of "room for the river," the floodplains around Deventer have been redesigned. The nature house is now phenomenally free in a special area, where the dynamics of the river can be fully experienced. At exceptionally high water (once every 10 years), the house can only be reached by rowboat.
