In the middle of the Utrecht Ridge, in an oasis of peace and quiet, yet near Amersfoort, you will find this property. On the property you will find the nature house, an independent nature house with all comforts. The cottage is a studio with sleeping area, living room with sitting area and cozy wood stove, kitchenette and luxury private bathroom with shower and toilet. The nature house overlooks the adjacent forest of Den Treek Estate and the landlord's house. It is an excellent starting point for forest walks and bicycle tours (also mountain bike). In summer the Mediterranean pool is open. As a special service, the landlords offer horse lovers the opportunity to bring their own horse for a fee and spend a fantastic equestrian vacation here, with free use of the 20x60 outdoor arena. For access to the 70 kilometers of equestrian routes of Landgoed Den Treek-Henschoten, an equestrian token can be purchased from the landlord of the cottage. Four kilometers away is the center of historic Amersfoort, so you can alternate your stay between nature and history. Horse along? Per night 25 (At other costs)
Nature and surroundings
40 meters from the front door of the nature house is an entrance to Den Treek-Henschoten Estate. This vast area of forests, nature, agriculture and heathland covers almost 2200 hectares and borders five municipalities: Amersfoort, Leusden, Woudenberg, Utrechtse Heuvelrug and Zeist. Den Treek-Henschoten Estate N.V. is the largest family estate in the Netherlands. The shareholders of Den Treek-Henschoten are all descendants of the estate's founder, Willem Hendrik de Beaufort. In 1807 he bought the Den Treek country estate with surrounding woods and lands. Here he founded the estate as a forestry company. The buitenplaats was his residence. The last expansion of the landholding took place in December 2012 with the purchase of a Country Estate in Driebergen. This 193-hectare estate consists mainly of forest and former shifting sands and it is now part of Den Treek-Henschoten. On this estate you will find hiking trails, mountain bike routes and very well maintained equestrian trails.
