The nature house is located in Koekange, on the edge of the vast Dwingelderveld nature reserve in Drenthe, 150 kilometers from Amsterdam. Between Meppel and Hoogeveen, near Giethoorn and against Ruinen. The 3,700-hectare nature reserve is under the management of Natuurmonumenten. The very varied landscape consists of beautiful forests with fens and moors. The Drents-Friese Wold nature reserve is also just a stone's throw away. Or how about a visit to the zoo or the city of Emmen? Or visit one of the many quaint villages like Bourtange, Ansen, Dwingeloo, Exloo or Orvelte. The cottage is the ideal base for many different cycling and walking routes. The Evening Four Days in Drenthe is also a real attraction for this province. VVV De Wolden is very active, there is both in the spring and summer and autumn enough to do, including at Natuurmonumenten.
