Nature house in Wateren (Westerveld)

A simple little cottage, comfortable beds, everything you need—though the window frames could use a fresh coat of paint.

Eenvoudig huisje, goede bedden, alles aanwezig, kozijnen kunnen wel weer een likje verf gebruiken.

Beautiful surroundings, but you have to keep an eye out for wolves! That ruins my ability to go for a carefree hike.

Prachtige omgeving, maar wel alert blijven op wolven! Dat verpest voor mij om zorgeloos te wandelen.

The cottage is a bit dated but has all the amenities; there was a nice welcome gift on the table for us and the dogs, and it’s really great that multiple dogs are welcome—something we don’t see often enough, unfortunately. There’s a lovely fenced-in yard where they can run around and play.

Huisje is wat gedateerd maar is van alle gemakken voorzien, leuk welkoms geschenk op tafel voor ons en de hondjes en wat heel fijn is dat er meerdere honden welkom zijn, dat zien we helaas te weinig. Heerlijke tuin die omheind is en waar ze lekker kunnen ravotten

The cottage is located in a park with many other similar cottages that are frequently rented out, right in the middle of the woods. There are no amenities in the park itself, but there’s a supermarket about a 15-minute drive away. It’s wonderfully peaceful, and there are plenty of woods and heathland in the area!

Huisje staat op een park met allemaal andere soortgelijke huisjes die veel verhuurd worden, midden in de bossen, geen voorzieningen verder op het park maar een supermarkt op klein kwartiertje rijden. Heerlijk rustig en veel bos en heide in de omgeving!

The cottage is indeed a bit dated, but it’s fully equipped, so we had a pleasant stay and were greeted with a nice welcome gift upon arrival. Something I didn’t see mentioned in other reviews or in the list of amenities is that there’s an oven (1 small oven, 1 combination microwave)! I’d also recommend that the owner invest in a few window screens, at least for the bathroom and master bedroom. That would prevent discomfort for the guest and stains on the wall for the owner (there are already plenty of those).

Het huisje is inderdaad wat gedateerd, maar wel van alles voorzien dus we hebben een prettig verblijf gehad met een leuke attentie bij aankomst. Wat ik niet in andere reviews of in de faciliteiten-lijst heb voorbij zien komen is dat er een oven is (1 oventje, 1 combi-magnetron)! Verder zou ik de eigenaar willen aanraden te investeren in een paar horren, op zijn minst voor de badkamer en master bedroom. Dat scheel ongemak voor de huurder, en vlekken op de muur voor de verhuurder (die zitten er genoeg).

A lovely location with a fenced-in garden and plenty of shade. There are lots of dogs in the area (just like us), and of course they make some noise. At night, it’s dead quiet.

Fijne locatie met omheinde tuin en veel schaduw. Veel honden in de omgeving (net als wij), en die maken natuurlijk wel geluid. 's Nachts is het muisstil.
