Nature house in de Woude

This nature house is located on the idyllic island of De Woude, a place of rest in the northern Randstad. Already on the ferry strikes the relaxation. The detached cottage stands on the landlords' plot and is luxuriously finished and equipped with a kitchen and a bathroom with shower. A south-facing terrace with sweeping views completes the picture. About 165 people live on the island, there are two café-restaurants and a church. Apart from an ice cream and candy shop, there are no stores. In short, a village where time at least slows down. There are a number of sheep, goats and chickens at the accommodation. Parking is available on private property near the cottage, but it is advisable to park the car on land, it is then about a five-minute walk (including ferry) to the nature house. There is no public transportation available. At six kilometers you will find the stations of Krommenie/Assendelft and Wormerveer, both of which are on the railroad line from Amsterdam to Alkmaar. Due to ferry sailing times, the location is not suitable for exploring the nightlife. Breakfast is not included.

Island De Woude is a polder surrounded by the Alkmaardermeer, the Markervaart and the Stierop. It is only accessible by boat or by ferry (sailing time one minute) across the Markervaart and that alone gives a unique vacation feeling. Most of the island is managed by the Forestry Commission; it is a unique bird area. It is definitely worthwhile to walk around the island, in one and a half to two hours you will discover all the beautiful spots. De Woude is centrally located between Amsterdam and Alkmaar, between the North Sea and the IJsselmeer. With plenty of nice trips in the area, such as The Zaanse Schans, Volendam, The Beemster and the Defense Line of Amsterdam which you can reach within 10 to 30 minutes by car. From the island you can make excellent day trips to these and many more places. The location of the island in relation to Schiphol occasionally causes the peace to be slightly disturbed by airplanes, but this inconvenience is generally not considered particularly disturbing. Beautiful bicycle routes, including the Ferry Route, run along the island.
