You see that you don't have to look far for a beautiful piece of nature. Helenaveen is located in the middle of the Peel area, on the border of Brabant and Limburg. Your gaze will soon fall on the canal 'the Helenavaart'. In the days when the Peel was reclaimed, this canal was used to drain peat. Now there are roads on both sides of the canal connected by an ample number of bridges. The Helena Canal has become a piece of nature that cannot be left out of this area. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the King Willem III Fund founded the so-called king's farms here. This is where this nature house is one of them. A refurbished monumental farmhouse from 1912.
