Nature house in Kullen / Nyhammar

Welcome to this nature house in Sweden! It’s located 3 hours from Stockholm, which makes flying here a viable option. There’s a small supermarket 10 kilometers away, and the town of Ludvika is 30 kilometers away. A little further, about 45 kilometers away, is the town of Borlänge, which also has a cozy indoor shopping center. So you’re right in the middle of nature, but still not too far from “civilization.” Also great for fall and winter! The cottage is heated with electric radiators. Plenty of hiking and biking opportunities. A very spacious and beautiful nature house in the middle of the Swedish forests. A lovely 30-kilometer loop hike starts right around the corner. A short 400-meter walk to the top of the hill takes you to a large observation tower. Climb it and you’ll be rewarded with a stunning view of the vast Swedish forests and lakes. A washing machine is available in our small outbuilding.

This nature house was established with the goal of offering people a peaceful retreat. To reach the house, you’ll need to travel five kilometers along a gravel path through the woods to the village of Kullen. Kullen is a small village with 25 residents. It’s easily accessible by car. At night, you can literally hear a pin drop, and even during the day, you’re more likely to encounter local wildlife than another person. Every season is magnificent! Discover the unspoiled nature in Sweden’s endless forests. Enjoy the variety of raspberries, berries, blackberries, and wild strawberries the area has to offer, which are used here to make the most delicious jams and sauces. Or visit the nature house in the fall and find the largest and tastiest mushrooms beneath the colorful foliage. There are also many lakes nearby. Explore the beautiful lakes by canoe or go fishing. Relax and unwind. You can set up your own swimming spot or picnic area almost anywhere. Within an hour, you can reach two different ski resorts (Romme Alpin and Säfsen), and there are also several cross-country and ski touring trails nearby. Between Borlänge and Falun, you’ll also find Lake Runn, which is Europe’s longest (and widest) natural ice rink.
