Nature house in Dwingeloo

Good news! For now, there will be no rate increase due to VAT changes! Thanks to the small scale of my Pothok, that isn’t required. This nature house is a former “pothok,” a small outbuilding that was once used by the farming family for baking and cooking. It’s a single room measuring 10 x 3 meters, equipped with all the amenities (kitchen, oven, and, of course, a separate toilet and shower). Kitchen and bath linens provided. Located halfway between the Dwingelderveld forest and the village of Dwingeloo, right in the middle of the es with a magnificent view and plenty of privacy, including on the private terrace and by the outdoor pool. A simple nature house in the most beautiful spot in Drenthe! Hikers welcome, cyclists welcome, motorcyclists welcome, divers welcome (fill station available!). Unfortunately, due to past experiences, dogs are no longer allowed. Please note: there are 2 chickens and 4 cats on my property. The nature house accommodates up to two people. Check-in at 4:00 PM, check-out by 12:00 PM, unless otherwise agreed.

Right outside your door is your own private little terrace, under the grapevine, next to the little wooded embankment. Greenery all around you and the pond right in front of you, with frogs and salamanders! And if you’re here in early May, you’ll see the currant blossoms on your left! Or just relax in the garden. Too hot? Take a dip in the outdoor pool to cool off. Look a little further than the end of your nose, and you’ll see the ash tree with the edge of the forest—the Dwingelderveld—behind it. Head toward the woods, a short way to the right, and you’ll find the De Paasbergen outdoor swimming pool. Take a walk through the woods, enjoy nature without traffic, keep an eye out for roe deer, and pass by the beautiful ponds; turn right at the heath, and you’ll see the Davidsplassen, a birdwatcher’s paradise with an observation hut. In the bustling center of Dwingeloo, there are many great restaurants and outdoor cafes, and you’ll find everything you need for your daily shopping. There’s also plenty to do outside Dwingeloo for a day trip: boating in Giethoorn, Shakespeare, the “colonies of benevolence” in Frederiksoord—you name it!
