The nature house is located in Brilon-Wald, Sauerland, surrounded by high mountains, between the Kneipkuur town of Brilon and Willingen and not far from Winterberg, directly by the forest and hiking trails. There are 1,000 kilometers of marked hiking trails, of which the Rothaarsteig (150 kilometers) is the most famous. Directly from the nature house you can walk. Highly recommended is a visit to the Bruchhausersteine, one of the very few German natural monuments. Besides hiking, you can enjoy skiing in Willingen; which is only a five-minute drive from the nature house; furthermore, you can mountain bike, cycle, swim or play golf. Nearby there is a natural outdoor pool, a spa park, the Mühlenkopfschans, a tropical swimming paradise, an indoor skating rink, a summer toboggan run, The Ettelsberg cable car, a glassworks, a wildlife and leisure park, in short, something for everyone! You also experience nature indoors: each room has a beautiful panoramic view of the garden and wooded area. The terrace is often visited by finches, titmice, wagtails and robins. And furthermore, you will see the occasional squirrel, and in the evening or at night you may see a deer visiting the garden.
