You look out all around on the tree-lined meadows where cows or sheep graze. If the farmer has just cut the grass, the storks perch right next to you. The cottage offers sleeping accommodation for two people. In the octagonal room you will find a spacious double bed and simple kitchenette, with oven and electric stove (one burner) and you have a beautiful view over the meadows. The spacious bathroom has a walk-in shower, sink and toilet. The covered terrace is a great place to relax. Also in the garden with fruit trees you have all the privacy and you can enjoy the beautiful view. And there is an excellent WIFI connection. Ideal for a weekend or a short vacation!

Nature and surroundings

The Reest valley lies on the border between Overijssel and Drenthe. The river meanders almost unhollandishly through the varied landscape where flowery meadows, old hedgerows, heath and forest alternate. An eldorado for hikers and cyclists; there is much to discover and experience here. Restaurants and stores can be found in the nearby villages of Balkbrug, Zuidwolde or De Wijk. And for some city entertainment you can visit the cozy Meppel or Zwolle.

The cottage was super cozy and nicely decorated; the bed was really comfortable with a lovely down comforter. The cottage was easy to heat with the electric heater, and the yard was perfect for my sweet dog to run around and play.

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

Wonderful peace and quiet, with the occasional soft sound of birds or the wind rustling through the leaves. Otherwise, it was dead quiet, right in the middle of nature. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet.

A lovely little house with a beautiful garden and plenty of privacy.

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

We stayed in this super-cute little cottage for a few days. It was even better than we’d expected. Everything was perfectly arranged, right down to the smallest details. The hosts, Leo and Martine, are really nice, laid-back people—which is a nice bonus. In short, we’ll definitely be back!
