This nature house concerns a very large farmhouse that offers space, peace and intimacy. In addition to a spacious living room with an open kitchen, you will find "De Deel". This is a very comfortable company room with sitting area, reading table, fireplace, piano and bar. There are four bedrooms, (one on the ground floor and three on the 1st floor) and two bathrooms. Very suitable for reunions, family weekends, brainstorming sessions or retreats, Due to the special design, the house is less suitable for multiple (young) children, and pets are not allowed. Guests will have complete privacy; no space will have to be shared. Not even if the owner happens to stay 1 or 2 nights in the front house (private part). The house is easily accessible by car and parking is available on site. By public transport there are limited possibilities to reach the village. Please note: for groups larger than 8 there is an extra charge of E 25,- pppd for the extra persons.
Nature and surroundings
The area is very green and varied, with forests, moors, sand drifts, nature reserves and many dirt roads. Great for lovers of hiking, cycling and horseback riding. The beautiful Vochteloerveen is about 6 km away right behind Veenhuizen. In this famous prison village in previous years were spectacular performances of the Pauper Paradise, based on the historical family novel by Suzanna Jansen. Repetition is expected. In Steenbergen (three km away) is one of the largest dolmens in Drenthe. Furthermore, the museums in Groningen and Assen (both about 20 kilometers away) are both very worthwhile. For daily shopping you can go to Norg, a nice village about 3 km away, with a beautiful village center, several cafes, a good Italian restaurant and two supermarkets, a butcher and a bicycle rental. Roden is somewhat larger, is 8 km away and offers the full range of well-known large supermarkets and various other stores.
