Nature house in Formerum

Wonderful house, perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need, clear instructions for gas and wood stove and central heating. Also super that for example washing machine is present, lots of extra blankets for when it is cold, and the facilities present all in top condition and pleasant to use. We did a lot of cooking together and found the kitchen all very pleasant. Also no problems with an empty water heater, for example, even though we were a large group. These things are always very nice and make the week wonderfully relaxed and laid back. Also the fire bowl came in handy, we really enjoyed the garden and nature around the house. As mentioned before, the only thing we found unfortunate was the lack of heating in the dining kitchen, and adding to that a spacious sitting area would also be super, with 8 people in the front room was a bit cramped, and elsewhere in the house there was no sofa or sitting area for example.

Prachtig huis, perfect uitgerust met alle mogelijke dingen die je nodig zou kunnen hebben, duidelijke instructies voor gas- en houtkachel en centrale verwarming. Ook super dat bijvoorbeeld wasmachine aanwezig is, veel extra dekens voor als het koud is, en de aanwezige faciliteiten allemaal in topconditie en prettig in gebruik. We hebben veel samen gekookt en vonden de keuken allemaal erg prettig. Ook geen last gehad van bijvoorbeeld een lege boiler, ondanks dat we met een grote groep waren. Dit soort dingen zijn altijd erg prettig en maakt de week heerlijk relaxed en ontspannen. Ook de vuurschaal kwam goed van pas, we hebben erg genoten van de tuin en de natuur om het huis heen.

Zoals eerder genoemd is het enige wat we jammer vonden het gebrek aan verwarming in de eetkeuken, en daaraan toevoegend een ruime zithoek zou ook super zijn, met 8 personen in de voorkamer was een beetje krap, en elders in het huis was er geen bank of zithoek bijvoorbeeld.

We had a fantastic week at 't Jit, and enjoyed this wonderful place immensely. Because of the spacious, green garden and the meadows around the house you hardly notice that you have neighbors (except for all the curious horses), and the house itself is spacious yet incredibly cozy and cozy. There is a private corner for everyone to retreat to, but also ample space to gather in the large eat-in kitchen. Everything you can think of is there, from badminton rackets and a chess set to cooking and baking utensils. The front house is cozy and gets warm quickly, our only concern would be that it is difficult to get the dining kitchen to a comfortable temperature. Of course understandable because of its size and high roof, but still a shame since it is just such a nice place to cook and eat together. Nevertheless, we used the barn doors a lot: when the weather is nice, it is like living outside!

We hebben een fantastische week gehad in 't Jit, en ontzettend genoten van dit heerlijke plekje. Door de ruime, groene tuin en de weilanden om het huis heen merk je bijna niet dat je buren hebt (behalve alle nieuwsgierige paardjes), en het huis zelf is ruim en toch ontzettend knus en gezellig. Voor iedereen is een eigen hoekje te vinden om zich terug te trekken, maar ook ruim plek om samen te komen in de grote eetkeuken. Alles wat je kunt verzinnen is aanwezig, van badmintonrackets en een schaakspel tot kook- en bakgerei. Het voorhuis is knus en wordt snel warm, ons enige aandachtspuntje zou zijn dat het lastig is de eetkeuken op aangename temperatuur te krijgen. Natuurlijk begrijpelijk vanwege de grootte en het hoge dak, maar toch jammer aangezien het juist zo'n fijne plek is om gezamenlijk te koken en te eten. De openslaande staldeuren hebben we desondanks veel gebruikt: met heerlijk weer is het net of je buiten leeft!

National monument from 1740. Very special that you can stay in about the most original house on Terschelling! Very complete in things to cook, play, read, sit outside, and much more... house full of personal collections and a restoration project that was taken in hand with much love and attention.

Rijksmonument uit 1740. Heel bijzonder dat je in ongeveer het meest originele huis op Terschelling kunt logeren! Heel compleet in spullen om te koken, spelen, lezen, buiten te zitten, en nog veel veel meer… huis vol persoonlijke verzamelingen en een restauratieproject dat met veel liefde en aandacht ter hand is genomen.
