It is a farmhouse from 1740 with largely authentic interior with wall tiles and a share barn with old stables. The comfort in the farmhouse is pleasantly old-fashioned. In one living room is a cozy old converted gas stove, the other living room is an antique coal stove fired with wood. Only the downstairs bathroom and bedrooms have central heating. In the sleeping loft only a hot water boiler. For cold nights electric blankets and extra duvets/blankets are available. The shower and toilet are on the ground floor. Present: all kitchen utensils, refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine, combi microwave/oven, nespresso machine, coffee filter machine, wifi and TV. Because of its size and its spacious surrounding yard, the farmhouse is very suitable for a family stay but also for a small number of people because of its intimate living rooms. In front of the spacious grass garden are benches, picnic table and garden chairs. Booking is possible for the next year from October of this season.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is a national monument. This makes it a unique place to spend your vacation. Children have many opportunities to play inside and outside. The farm stands on a quiet lane between meadows with another (partly active) organic farm across the street. There is a spacious yard around the property. It is wonderfully quiet (only in the middle of summer sometimes noise pollution from a nearby campsite De Appelhof). There are plenty of indoor and outdoor toys. Furthermore, you can enjoy the rural surroundings of the island. It is 10 min walk to the Wadden dike, on the bike you are in fifteen minutes at the North Sea beach. Bus at 4 min. walking distance. Large supermarket (with delivery service) and bike rental are both within 5 min. walking distance. The village Formerum is located in the middle of the island between the cozy village Midsland and Lies. For further information please contact the landlord.
