Surrounded by monumental trees lies this attractive nature house in the north of Drenthe. It was built in 1930 on the spot where the house of Estate Bloemert stood on the edge of the Zuidlaardermeer. The nature house stands on 8000 m² of private land, part of a forest area where, at a good distance from each other, there are three other houses. The forest is rich in birds, such as the spotted woodpecker and the nuthatch, which daily visit the feeding table. The nature house is carefully decorated in a rural romantic atmosphere. The open kitchen is fully equipped, such as combi-oven and dishwasher. You can relax in front of the built-in fireplace with a book from the book mill and a good glass of wine. The bedrooms are upstairs, the bathroom with shower cabin, sink and toilet downstairs. There is WiFi available (fiberglass) and a flat screen TV. No smoking inside and pets are not allowed. Parking is available next to the house and bicycles (possibly for rent) can be stored dry.
Nature and surroundings
From Midlaren it is only four kilometers to the cozy village of Zuidlaren, with a variety of stores and eateries. Haren and Groningen (16 kilometers) can also be reached quickly. The surroundings of Midlaren are ideal for hiking (Noordlaarderbos, the 50-Bunder or Appelbergen). Midlaren is located on the north side of the Drentsche Aa area, in Geopark De Hondsrug and also only 16 kilometers from Groningen. The cottage is therefore the perfect base for making cycling tours, such as a round the Zuidlaardermeer or a trip through National Landscape Park the Drentsche Aa. Renting a boat is easy, the Zuidlaardermeer is within walking distance (500 meters). Forest and water, thus this nature house offers the best of both worlds. For those who love golf: there is a beautiful course in Glimmen, just three kilometers away.
