This Irish Wagon is one of two nature houses in this landlords' yard. To the wagon you will still traditionally find a chicken coop and a hay rack for the horse. In addition to the double bed, the wagon has a table with two benches, two closets, electricity and possibly a small steel stove. The beautiful bathroom is 40 meters from the wagon. There is also a kitchen there with stove/oven and refrigerator for guests to use. Besides the other wagon, on "the field by the pool" there is occasionally a tent of other guests. The farm where this nature house is located was formerly a dairy farm. This ceased about 30 years ago giving the farm almost the status of a museum. In addition to the nature houses, the farm has care clients, sheep, location rentals, sheep and small livestock. This summer 2023 we are rebuilding the main house with attached barn. There will be little notice on the campground.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in the Bovenkerkerpolder about 20 kilometers from Amsterdam. Despite the fact that the house is in the Randstad, space and silence are still tangible here. The polder is a peat meadow area where mainly dairy cows are kept. From the field you look out on grass, water, sky and cows. Both owners were born in the polder and love nature. They participate in the agricultural nature management with which this polder is very successful when it comes to the state of the meadow birds. This is different in other areas of the Netherlands! The "camping field" has a pool with toads also a tree with little owls. Again this year the hosts had two young!
