This nature house, a circus wagon from the Circus of Ghent, now stands next to the landlords' yard. It has a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with wood stove and a small kitchenette near the entrance. It has electricity and a small gas burner. In the wooden barn in the yard there is also a nice kitchen with stove, oven and refrigerator for guests to use. Also there are the bathroom facilities. This is about 50 meters from the wagon. In the meadow there is also another nature house. Sometimes there are also guests with a tent. On the farm next to the meadow is a small farm. Several days a week the farm is a small "care farm". The guests of the meadow can also use the firebowl that is on the meadow behind the farm by mutual agreement.This summer (2023) we are in the process of rebuilding the house with adjacent barn. The back yard has no view of this.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in the peat meadow area: 'De Bovenkerkerpolder'. The owners both grew up here as son and daughter of dairy farmers. The Bovenkerkerpolder is rich in meadow birds. This is in contrast to many other areas in the Netherlands. From the Circus wagon there is a wide view over grass, sky and ditches. On the other side of the wagon is the dike. A little further up, the boats sail down the Amstel River. At night you can hear the frogs and the peacock. Sometimes an owl flies over the wagon. This year there are two young little owls again.
