Nature house in Jisp

This nature house is situated in a unique spot on an island in the Wormer- and Jisperveld. From the small harbor in the village of Jisp (with parking lot) it is about five minutes by boat to the cottage.The cozy nature house gives a beautiful view over the vast peat landscape. There are several jetties, so you can sit anywhere near the water, moor your boat and swim. It is cozily furnished, you will feel right at home! The history of the island on which this nature house stands is also special. Together with Graft and De Rijp, Jisp was among the villages from which whaling departed in the 17th and 18th centuries. This nature house stands on an island where, from 1611 until the early 20th century, an oil mill and a so-called prut house stood. Whale bones are still regularly found there. The other cost is a contribution to the rental of the rowboat, of €8 per day. Of course, this cost does not have to be paid if you come with your own boat. The rowboat will be ready at the jetty of the nature house. Please do not smoke in the nature house. Only dogs are allowed as pets, maximum two.

The Wormer and Jisperveld consists of hundreds of islets, reeds and ponds. It is managed by Natuurmonumenten. It is a beautiful nature and sailing area, rich in fish and known for its wealth of birds (redshanks, black-tailed godwits, lapwings, black terns). From the village of Wormer round trips with explanations are provided through the area. There are two locks, through which the Zaan and the Noordhollands Kanaal can be reached. It is an ideal area for fishing, canoeing, sailing, rowing and swimming. Canoes can be rented in the village. There is a restaurant located at the small harbor of Jisp and several eateries in the villages around it. The nearest shopping center is four kilometers away in Wormer.Sights nearby include the Zaanse Schans and De Rijp with museums.Amsterdam is about 20 kilometers away.
