Wake up to the sound of birds; from the cottage, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of the large wooded garden, where birds and squirrels scurry about. From the cottage, you can easily walk or bike right into the nature reserve. The vacation home is situated in a very peaceful location within a large, fenced-in wooded garden spanning 1,400 square meters. The cozy, well-furnished vacation home has everything you need for a carefree vacation or weekend getaway in nature. A spacious, well-equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms, a spacious bathroom, board games, a TV, and a record player with LPs. There’s a wood stove inside and another one outside with a pizza oven. For the kids, there’s a trampoline and a swing set with rings. Convenient amenities include a washing machine, dryer, and fiber-optic internet. You’ll be staying in Drenthe, in the Drents-Friese Wold National Park, one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. Compared to the Veluwe, the national park is very peaceful, and there’s plenty to do. From the house, the Doldersummerveld is within walking distance, featuring a beautiful observation tower from which you can see far across the nature reserve. Further north lies the Aekingerzand with Lake Canada and the Spartel Pond, which also has a large off-leash area for dogs. The Bosberg Tower in Apelscha is beautifully designed, and the view is even more stunning. Nearby, there’s a climbing park for children and various mountain bike trails. A short distance away are the Holtingerveld, the Fochteloërveen, the Dwingelderveld, and the UNESCO-listed Colonies of Benevolence. Visit the various hunebeds, authentic villages, fruit and flower picking gardens, and cozy restaurants. A trip to Giethoorn is also an option. Rented bicycles can be delivered to your home and will be picked up again.
