Waking up to birdsong, as you go to make coffee/tea a squirrel jumps by in the garden. That is really just a moment away :-) Greenery all around you, walking from the cottage into the woods, quietly reading a book in the garden. At this Boshuisje in Wateren you can do it all. The cottage is located in a spacious fenced forest garden of 1,400m2. It has everything for a carefree vacation or few days in nature. A spacious well-equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms, spacious bathroom, board games, TV and record player with LPs. Inside a wood stove and outside a wood stove with pizza over. For the youngsters a trampoline and swing/rings. Convenient: washer, dryer and fiberglass. Good beds and mattresses, fine bedding, many books for young and old. Nature and surroundings
You are staying in Drenthe in the National Park Drents-Friese Wold, one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. The nature park is very quiet compared to the Veluwe and there is plenty to do. From the house is the Doldersummerveld on foot with the beautiful watchtower where you can overlook the nature reserve very far. North is the Aekingerzand with the Canada Lake and spartelvijver where there is also a large off-leash area for dogs. The forest mountain tower in Apelscha is beautiful in design and the view even more beautiful. Nearby is a climbing park for children and several mountain bike routes. A short distance away are the Holtingerveld, the Fochteloërveen and the Dwingelderveld and the UNESCO Colonies of Weldadigheid. Visit the various megalithic tombs, authentic villages, fruit and flower picking gardens and cozy restaurants. A trip to Giethoorn is also a possibility. Rented bikes can be delivered to your home and will also be picked up again.
