This charming nature house with wood stove and 1,400m2 fenced garden is located in Drenthe on the Drents-Friese Wold in the village of Wateren. The cottage has a large fairytale garden that offers plenty of privacy. You can hear birdsong, see squirrels passing by and walk straight into the nature reserve. Inside, the house is tastefully decorated, with a wood stove for cozy evenings and large windows overlooking the greenery. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, combi-oven, Nespresso, filter coffee and milk frother. There are board games, books, a record player with LPs, high-speed wifi, TV, washer and dryer. It has three bedrooms and a spacious bathroom. Outside you will enjoy a pizza oven, hammock, trampoline, swing, sitting areas and an outdoor stove that is also a pizza oven. The garden is fully fenced from the house to the back with a branch hedge/fence.
Nature and surroundings
You are staying in Drenthe in the National Park Drents-Friese Wold, one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. The nature park is very quiet compared to the Veluwe and there is plenty to do. From the house is the Doldersummerveld on foot with the beautiful watchtower where you can overlook the nature reserve very far. North is the Aekingerzand with the Canada Lake and spartelvijver where there is also a large off-leash area for dogs. The forest mountain tower in Apelscha is beautiful in design and the view even more beautiful. Nearby is a climbing park for children and several mountain bike routes. A short distance away are the Holtingerveld, the Fochteloërveen and the Dwingelderveld and the UNESCO Colonies of Weldadigheid. Visit the various megalithic tombs, authentic villages, fruit and flower picking gardens and cozy restaurants. A trip to Giethoorn is also a possibility. Rented bikes can be delivered to your home and will also be picked up again.
