This characteristic 120-year-old Swedish nature house stands amidst centuries-old oak trees on the edge of the vast Glaskogen nature reserve near Lake Glafsfjorden. This typical red and white wooden house has a large "garden" of almost 4000 m². There is a good chance of seeing deer and elk. The nature house sleeps ten and there is a guest house with two beds. Two kayaks and a canoe (with carts) are waiting for you in the garage for a trip on one of the 90 lakes in the immediate vicinity. Or would you rather take a dip in the clear water and cast a fishing rod? In Glaskogen you can indulge in unspoiled Swedish nature with some 300 kilometers of hiking trails. Trampoline, swing and various games are available for the children. The house is spacious enough to entertain inside if the weather is bad. There is (wifi) internet and Swedish TV. The house has two tiled stoves and a wood stove.
Nature and surroundings
Stömne is located on the edge of Glaskogen and Lake Glafsfjorden. Near the nature house you will find as many as 90 large and small lakes. You can make fantastic walks here, including multi-day trips. Here and there in Glaskogen are half-open huts with fireplaces where you can spend the night. Besides hiking you can make great canoe/kayak trips, swim in the lakes, go fishing or a combination of all this! Also worth visiting is the Stömne Nature Reserve. It is known for its special flora and fauna. You can swim very well in the lake (Hammartjärn with beach and jetty) in the village and in the large Glafsfjordenmeer. The nearest supermarket is 15 kilometers away in Klässbol, where there is also a pizzeria. 30 kilometers away is Arvika where there is nice shopping and several supermarkets. Karlstad is 75 kilometers away and offers even more shopping fun.
