The nature house has an attractive spacious living room with lots of wood, an open kitchen, a comfortable sitting area, a closet full of garden books and French doors on two sides. The kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, dishwasher, refrigerator, oven, coffee maker and kettle. There is a separate bedroom, separate toilet and the bathroom has a bath and shower. Next to the house is a small sheltered terrace under the pergola, which is overgrown with roses and clematis. By the pond is a larger terrace under the willows. The cottage is available only during the week. On weekends it is reserved for guests of Summer Restaurant The Garden Room (which is open only on weekends).

The nature house is surrounded by: wild gardens, designed by Henk Gerritsen, which have been ecologically managed for over 40 years. There are thousands of different plants, including many native and protected species. Gerritsen became known for his philosophy that gardens are also a part of nature and published several books, of which Outside is Green has become a classic. The Gardens cover two acres and have a very distinctive atmosphere: there is a woodland garden, a flower meadow, a vegetable garden and a butterfly garden. The Gardens also includes a Summer Restaurant the Garden Room, situated in an old greenhouse. This restaurant is open only on weekends. Nearby are beautiful forests and farmlands for cycling and hiking, for example near Ommen or the Drents-Friese Wold. The nature house is centrally located between Hardenberg, Dedemsvaart, Zwolle and Hoogeveen. In Dedemsvaart, the Gardens of Mien Ruys are definitely worth a visit.
