Nature house in Markelo

A cozy and spacious nature house with all the comforts, suitable for two to nine people (with the option of an extra baby crib). You can enjoy a wonderful vacation in this restored, authentic nature house on the grounds of a farmhouse dating back to 1749. Since its renovation, the nature house has been well-insulated and equipped with underfloor heating. From the moment you walk in, you’ll experience the very spacious living room as a warm family room with a cozy sitting area and a large dining table, where the whole group can gather for meals or to play games. There are four bedrooms. Three of these cozy box-bed-sized bedrooms are located on the ground floor, each in its own corner of the house. The fourth small room has three beds and is located upstairs. The comfortable box-spring beds are neatly made upon arrival, usually arranged as a double bed, but upon request, they can also be placed separately from one another. All rooms are well-ventilated with tilt-and-turn windows and can be heated comfortably if desired. The kitchen is fully equipped—including, of course, a dishwasher—and the bathroom facilities are nice.

This location offers you plenty of opportunities for socializing, peace, and relaxation. Chickens roam around the house, and you’re welcome to eat their eggs. In the pasture, you’ll see friendly sheep (with lambs every spring), and when the season calls for it, you can enjoy fruit from the orchard. The large lawn in front of the house is reserved for you, and patio furniture is provided. There’s a large trampoline for children. In the summer, the hosts set up a swimming pool, and there’s a kiddie pool for the little ones. There’s also a wagon and other toys, and for older children, the small forest across the way is an adventurous playground. The beautiful surroundings offer endless possibilities. Hiking or biking on the Holterberg (Sallandse Heuvelrug), a covered wagon ride in the Borkeld, swimming in the new pool in Markelo, a donkey ride near Markelo, shopping in Zutphen, Deventer, Hengelo, and Enschede, or enjoy charming towns like Lochem, Delden, the art town of Diepenheim (with its many galleries and museum of modern art), the Twickel estate, and the many other castles and parks around Diepenheim and Delden. This is just a small selection of the many possibilities.
