In nearby Rolde, enthusiasts can visit the "Het Dorp van Bartje" museum or the Rolde windmill. Drentsche Aa is a National Stream and Esdorpen Landscape and from your nature house you can easily visit this area (by bike). The Pieterpad crosses the "Andersche Beek" between Anderen and Rolde via a very old ford (ford) which has recently been restored to its former glory. Do you come by covered wagon or on horseback? Then a meadow on the Drentsche Aa is at your disposal. Assen is only eight kilometers away.
