The nearest train stations can be found in Venray, Venlo and Horst (Horst-Sevenum). There are regular buses between Venray and Venlo that pass through the center of Swolgen.

The nature house is located a short distance from recreation area De Maasduinen. Here are numerous hiking and cycling routes that lead past the most beautiful places. The cozy village centers make walking or cycling trips unforgettable. Also, the Pieterpad runs just 300 meters from this cottage. The Pieterpad is the most famous long-distance hiking route in the Netherlands. It leads from Pieterburen on the coast of Groningen to the Sint-Pietersberg near Maastricht and has a length of 492 kilometers, divided into 26 stages. On the route of the Pieterpad, Swolgen is the resting place between the stages of Vierlingsbeek and Venlo. The center of Swolgen is within walking distance. You can eat well there. From this nature house you can make nice trips to the cities of Horst, Venlo, Venray or Roermond (outlet shopping) or visit one of the tourist attractions in the area, such as Aardbeienland, Toverland, Kasteeltuinen, Thermaalbad, Brouwerij Hertog Jan, Zooparc or Irrland.
