Nature house in Waldheim

The nature house is located just outside the German town of Waldheim, on the northern edge of the Ore Mountains. You rent the second floor of the house. The cottage has a private entrance via the stairwell. There is a living room, kitchen, bathroom with bath and shower and a bedroom. In the living room there is a spacious sitting area with satellite TV. The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, refrigerator, oven, coffee maker, Senseo and a kettle. The cottage has a bedroom with a double bed. In the storage room in the stairwell there is a washing machine and a vacuum cleaner. Outside is a large garden with several terraces you can use. Behind the cottage is a babbling brook. In the woods behind the house are many birds, squirrels and very occasionally a pack of deer passes by. The nights are really dark and it is quiet, so you sleep deeply and get up extremely refreshed in the morning. Especially people over 50 experience Saxony as very special, because of the hiking possibilities, the nice towns and the special cities like Dresden and Leipzig.

Saxony is the land of mountains, forests and moors. In the area there is a lot of fruit growing. The forest with marked hiking trails begins right behind the cottage. The cottage can be reached on foot, via a walk along the river Zschopau (of about 20 minutes). In the immediate vicinity of the cottage is a reservoir. In the summer, theater performances are held here and tours are organized. Numerous towns are worth visiting: Meißen with its porcelain factory and mineral museum and, of course, Dresden with its historic Altstadt and the university town of Leipzig. A little further on (200 meters), opposite the restaurant/guesthouse Waldfrieden, is a large parking lot. Saxony is a new Bundesland. Saxons are always surprised, that tourists come. They do not realize how beautiful Saxony is! But they are friendly and accommodating to tourists, even trying their best to speak English if they can't help it. Newly discovered the "Saxon Switzerland" with its impressive rock formations, see photos. Kurort Rathen is the start of a wonderful walk over and through the rocks. One guest rightly remarked: If I had known this earlier, I could have saved myself a trip to the Grand Canyon. The trip there takes about two hours, but it is an experience for life.
