The historic, atmospheric and romantic naturehouse is part of a monumental farm complex, the old oven is still present. It is six by four meters big, fully furnished and equipped with all the conveniences. There is a toilet, shower, kitchenette and heating that also functions as air conditioning. Downstairs you will find a sitting room with sofa, dining area and open plan kitchen. In the kitchen are a two-piece electric cooker, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and Senseo machine. On the loft is a double bed, accessible by a removable/movable staircase (which can be secured). TV, DVD player and wireless internet are available. There is a private sheltered terrace/garden with comfortable garden chairs. Parking space is available. The house is located near cycling, hiking and horse riding trails in the middle of nature. From the yard you can walk right into the beautiful Reest valley with meadows, heaths, forests and fields. Many beautiful hiking and cycling trails, such as the "Overijssels Pad", run through this valley. The farm is one of the three monumental farms, a so-called 'farm swarm'. One of these is a group accommodation, where guests (families) often are at weekends and holidays. A secession and shrub shed provide privacy, this week mostly resting on rural tranquility. Maximum of one pet allowed. Looking for more space and a bedroom on the ground floor, please check out the other naturehouse in this area: 28135.
Nature and surroundings
The Reest valley is situated on the border of Overijssel and Drenthe. The Reest river forms the provincial border. The river (a peatbone) winds through a picturesque, unspoilt landscape, a unique and protected area in the Netherlands, escaping to the trade settlement. Winding grain fields, blooming meadows, pastures in a couliss landscape and forest and heath give the visitor the feeling of acient times. Twisted country roads run past centuries-old farms and es-hamlets. The landscapes on both sides of the Reest largely fall under the Drents Landscape and Landscape Overijssel, which both have a visitor centre. Through the unspoiled, varied landscape runs a network of romantic hiking and cycling trails. Hiking and cycling tours extend to Staphorster Forest, a large continuous forest area with heath. Cycling routes link to the Ommen and Lemelerberg forests. Culture and art can be found in the beautiful picturesque garden (Pictures at Sea) of Castle/hotel-restaurant de Havixhorst, where you can also enjoy a good kitchen. Within walking distance (by forest) of the house is De Proefkamer Het Reestdal, which boils with high-level natural ingredients and organic products. Several good restaurants are situated in the immediate area, including two star restaurants.
