Stay in an old-fashioned log cabin which stands for nostalgia with today's comfort. On the edge of the beautiful garden there are five romantic shelters. Adults can sleep in a box bed for even more nostalgia. There is a tree trunk as table. The wood stove offers you cozy warmth. For children it is just like a fairytale like the house of Hansel and Gretel. In the morning you are awakened by the noise of the wind and the singing of the birds. Enjoy the silence and the music of the rustling leefs. Wake up slowly for another wonderful day. The huts are fully furnished, well-insulated and they have a wood burning stove. During spring, autumn and summer, you can enjoy your stay here comfortably. The wood stove provides a cozy atmosphere and extra warmth. The ruralhuts are equipped with a kitchenette, cooker, fridge, pans, cutlery and crockery. Well-kept sanitary facilities are within short walking distance from the ruralhuts. In the bed is a double mattress (140 x 200), a duvet (200 x 200) and pillows. Besides that, there are also two sofa beds with a single mattress (90 x 200) and a duvet (140 x 200). There is a private terrace with deckchairs and table.
Nature and surroundings
The second largest contiguous forest area of the Netherlands lies on the border of Friesland and Drenthe. A wooded area full of variety, with swamp and dust sand, with buddies and heath, with splendid fields and flowering brook valleys. After the Hoge Veluwe the Drents-Friese Wold (on the border of Drenthe and Friesland) is the largest contiguous forest area of the country. But this National Park is more than just forest. In the Drents-Friese Wold you can wander from sand sprains to fens and from heath to swamp. Standing in the throbbing "Aekingerzand" you do not even have a lot of imagination to imagine how the immeasurable sandy area of Drenthe should have seen it before. In the flooded swamp section "Aekingerbroek" you are at the origin of the Vledder Aa river, which has recently flowed freely. 5000 years ago, farmers already lived on the borders of Friesland and Drenthe. They laid their fields on highlands. By making the fields with heaths and making the manure of their sheep fertile, they became higher and higher. Hiking or cycling through the Drents-Friese Wold and you recognize the typical Drents scenery: bulky fields around the villages and brooks of blooming flowers. The Drents-Friese Wold is not only big, it is also great in beauty.
