Cottages in Sussex

Sussex is a county in England, located on the south coast of the UK, along the English Channel. The landscape in the region is interesting as it mainly consists of high lands spreading from west to east and slowly fading into the Weald sands and the Channel. This scenic territory of the United Kingdom was a favorite place for King George IV, the Prince Regent, who cherished the sunny days on the southern coast of the Kingdom.

Our website offers you different possibilities for a lovely stay in West or East Sussex, near the beach or in the more rural countryside region up north. Staying in a cottage provides freedom to travelers which cannot be achieved on a regular organized trip or a hotel stay. The cottages are furnished to the best practices to ensure your comfort, and your hosts will do the impossible for you to fully enjoy Sussex nature like a local.

Distinctive British nature

Brits have many gardens scattered all across the country. Borde Hill is just one of many located in Sussex and is also one of the biggest in the UK. The garden presents rare plant species and flowers, champion trees, palms and even a pool with lilies. Explore the different specialty gardens such as the Italian garden. For the best views of the flower fields head to the Ouse Valley Viaduct or take a trip along the lakeshore.

One of our favorite natural wonders in Sussex and a great spot for a hike in the woods is the Marline Valley in East Sussex. This valley is a Local nature Reserve, which is covered with a dense forest vegetation with centuries-old trees. A stream crosses the meadows through narrow passages in between the trees, creating the best environment for the growth and development of more than 50 types of moss.

Activities

If you are on a family vacation, one of the greatest places to take your children to is the Fishers Adventure Farm Park. Located in West Sussex, this park takes the whole family on a great adventure – get to know the animals living here or enjoy the attractions. Children and animal lovers especially love the Animal Encounters Barn – you can pet, hug or feed goats, lambs, chicks, rabbits, cows and pigs and many more. In the midst of an exciting day, nutrition is important and on the park premises you will find the Saddle Rooms restaurant – a great lunch place serving amazing food grown and homemade on the farm.

Cyclists from the region will agree with our recommendation – choose the Cuckoo Trail for an amazing ride through the best of the countryside in the county. The path follows a former railway line – the Cuckoo Line. On this route you will enjoy great views of East Sussex and there are plenty of points for a rest, where you could have a family picnic.

If you want to spend a fun day on the beach there are numerous beaches to try – Seaford beach and Broomhill Sands are among the more distinctive ones, but Pevensey Bay Beach is among the most lovely ones.
