Cottages in Abisko National Park

Abisko National Park is located in one of the northernmost parts of Sweden. If you are craving for a unique destination and staying in a national park is a dream come true, then head to Abisko right away! In this park you will meet nothing but pure bliss and wilderness. Pack your stuff and leave for the adventure of a lifetime.

Our cottages are situated across the park or near it and serve as a wonderful beginning point for day trips or multi day trekking experiences. You can enjoy the wilderness with a guide, but at your cottage you can enjoy the peace and quiet of a contactless stay. Our nature homes are equipped with everything you might need, whether during the summer or winter period of the year.

The stunning nature in Abisko

Abisko is a natural park which provides completely different experiences to its visitors depending on the period they choose to travel. If you would like to face a real Swedish winter, then try the colder months. The snow, the northern lights, the nature, the people and their way of living in the hardly bearable cold – everything is fascinating. From December to January, you will experience the so-called no-sun period. Not only is this an experience by itself, but this is also the best time to see the Aurora Borealis as there is hardly any light to disturb the breathtaking views.

Abisko is also the place where you can learn a lot about the indigenous Sami communities. You can interact with them and even take part in some of their traditions if you book a guide to take to one of their villages.

During the summer months, the weather is nice and the summer is very mild. This is when you will be able to witness the full bloom of Swedish nature and roam for days on through the Abisko wilderness. The summer is the midnight sun period – the light from the sun hardly ever settles down completely.

Ideas to stay active

During wintertime, snowmobiles will be your best friends after your guide, of course. These machines are widely used by locals as they can take you pretty much everywhere without a problem and even the no-sun-period cannot stop you from exploring the serene Swedish nature.

During the rest of the winter, you can also enjoy activities such as snowshoe hiking to the top of some of the Abisko peaks. Some of the tours will even take you to the beautiful lake near Stor Nabben where the views will enchant you. Hiking is also possible! You will have a chance to explore the countryside and even go moose spotting or stop to try ice fishing.

During the summer, there are more tours to try. You can hike your way through Narvik or the Fjords of Norway. The hike to the magical Troll Lake and Stone Valley are among our favourites. It is a full day hike which takes you to Stone valley and provides you with amazing views of the crystal clear lake underneath the peak.
