Nature house in Grou

This nature house is a wooden, well-insulated tiny house measuring 20 m² that sleeps 2 people. It’s tucked away in its own little forest along the quiet canal “De Wide Burd” and can’t be seen from the road. This gives you complete privacy, right in the heart of nature. At the front, the double doors open onto a large wooden deck. Here you’ll find four wooden chairs with cushions, where you can enjoy a peaceful meal outdoors, read, or take in the view of the greenery and the water. Around the cabin, you’ll also find a picnic table, a hammock, a barbecue, and a fire pit. Inside, the cottage is compact but fully equipped. There’s a kitchenette with a refrigerator and a two-burner gas stove, along with kitchen utensils; there’s also a nice shower and toilet, a two-person sofa, and a small wood stove that quickly warms the cottage to a comfortable temperature. Thanks to the many windows, you have views of the surroundings from every angle. The dining table and chairs fold out. The 1.40-meter-wide bed can also be folded away.

The house is a charming little tiny home on the nature island of De Burd, nestled in the heart of De Alde Feanen National Park and Natura 2000 area. Here, you’ll find no stores, no streetlights, and no through traffic. There’s just one quiet little road, surrounded by water, meadows, and nature reserves teeming with birds. With a bit of luck, you might spot a kingfisher darting across the water or hear the deep call of the bittern in the distance. Every day sounds different here. As soon as you take the ferry onto the island, everything slows down. You wake up to the sound of birds, look out over the water, and see the stars again at night. You’ll often see roe deer roaming around the cottage. From the cottage, you can step right out into nature to hike, bike, go boating, or simply spend a day doing nothing. This nature house is a warm and comfortable place to unwind. Far away from the hustle and bustle, yet close enough for a quick getaway. Here, you don’t have to go anywhere. You’re already there.
