The apartment is on the first floor and has its own entrance at the back of the house. It can accommodate two to a maximum of four people. There are two beds on the loft, which is accessible via a so-called miller’s staircase. The apartment is equipped with everything needed for living, sleeping, and cooking. Cooking is done on an induction cooktop; there is an oven, a refrigerator, a freezer, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. There is a separate bathroom with a toilet and shower (offering an unobstructed view of the meadows). There are plenty of seating areas around the house for sitting or eating outdoors. Smoking is not permitted inside the apartment. There are 4 bicycles available for free use. You can safely store your own bicycles in a locked shed. The house is situated on a mound where a windmill once stood. The pumping station, which is a municipal historic landmark, still stands there today and is managed by us on behalf of the Water Board. The house offers everything you need to unwind.
Nature and surroundings
The house with the apartment is located just before the West Frisian ring dike and 5 km from the activity beach near Petten. A popular spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or a bite to eat is Zee en zo. The view from the house looks east toward the West Frisian ring dike, to the south over the Schoorl Dunes, to the west over the village of Burgerbrug, and to the north across the meadows (and sometimes tulip fields) toward Sint Maartenbrug; on a clear day, Schagen is visible. Burgerbrug can serve as a base for hiking and biking trips from Bergen to Den Helder, or by bike and boat to Texel. Between Bergen and Den Helder, there are as many as 7 beach access points that are worth visiting. There are also plenty of entertainment options for families with children. In case of bad weather, you can always head to museums and other attractions in Alkmaar, Schagen, Den Helder, etc. In the apartment, we have a book listing all the options for visiting special places in the Noordkop region.

Free cancellation within 7 days of your booking confirmation, provided the booking request was made more than 28 days before the start date. For bookings starting within 28 days, free cancellation applies within 24 hours. If you cancel within the specified period, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount.
After that, you will receive a partial refund of the trip cost and a 100% refund of the deposit:
• Up to 42 days before arrival: 70% refund
• 42–28 days before arrival: 40% refund
• 28 days through the day of arrival: 10% refund
• On the day of arrival or later: no refund
