Nature house in Holtheme

A lovely new nature house in beautiful Overijssel, close to the German border, near Gramsbergen and Hardenberg. The nature house is located on our property, separate from our own home and therefore completely private. The nature house features a kitchen, a bathroom with a rain shower, and a combined bedroom and living room (with two single beds pushed together). It is equipped with underfloor heating, a TV, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a coffee maker, and all the kitchen essentials needed to prepare a meal. A cozy wood stove keeps the cottage pleasantly warm on cold days. It has its own garden with a view of the countryside. Chickens roam freely in our yard, and our cows occasionally wander by from their pasture. Roe deer, pheasants, and hares are also regular visitors, and if you’re lucky, you might spot a squirrel or a spotted woodpecker. In the summer, you can enjoy the fruit from our trees. In short, it’s a cozy, inviting cottage where you can enjoy each other’s company and nature in complete peace and quiet.

Holtheme is a hamlet in the municipality of Hardenberg. The surrounding area offers beautiful hiking and biking trails, picturesque country roads, and the Vecht River. The Vecht River flows into the Netherlands right here in our hamlet. A walk to the Vecht is definitely worth your while. Or you can visit the small German towns just across the border. Both Gramsbergen and Hardenberg have plenty of shops, and there’s a lively atmosphere in the summer. The “de Grote Scheere” estate is nearby, featuring nostalgic farmhouses, a country house, and very old trees. In Gramsbergen, we have a brewery with an authentic café where you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped back in time. In the summer, it’s wonderful to relax by the water while enjoying a delicious cold beer. The Pieterpad trail doesn’t run directly past our nature house, but it’s not a long detour either. Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen is about 25 kilometers away, and the Hanseatic city of Zwolle is about 48 kilometers away. In short, these are just a few of the attractions—there are many more.
