Nature and surroundings

There are several hiking and biking trails in and around the charming village of Swolgen. As soon as you step outside, you’re right on the edge of the forest. The Reindersmeer is very close by, and you should definitely visit it at least once. This stunning lake is part of the Maasduinen National Park and was voted the most beautiful lake in the Netherlands in 2020. The Hertog Jan brewery is also nearby and well worth a visit. Toverland, Aardbeienland, and the “House Upside Down” are fun day trips. The municipality of Horst aan de Maas has many more beautiful spots to explore—and all of this right here in our own little “Frog Country.” This vacation is an experience you won’t soon forget. Book quickly, because this home fills up fast. P.S. Pets are not allowed in this home.

We had a wonderful week at the Log Cabin. The house has everything you could want and is perfect for staying indoors when the weather is bad. The bathrooms are great and a real highlight. The area is quiet and perfect for exploring by bike. We would come back anytime.
