This Natuurhuisje is a historical mansion at the northern edge of the Veluwe nature reserve, with a large garden, surrounded by a moat, in a park setting with meadows, forests and hedges. Just like the residents of the nearby coach house and care-providing cottage, our guests will enjoy the space, quiet and cultural history of the spot . Not a party location, in short! The interior of the 19th century mansion was well preserved by the family that still uses the house as its out-of-town holiday residence and regularly rents it out to other families. The interior largely dates from the 1960 or before. There are three bathrooms, and three smaller bedrooms have a private washing basin. Two children's rooms in the attic have less privacy than the four larger bedrooms. The spacious kitchen has all conveniences. The hall has a large table and the comfortable living room with fireplace offers leather armchairs. Bookshelves with old books and family portraits are the finishing touches.

Nature and surroundings

Behind the house is a large lawn with spring flowers and old trees, including a very tall liriodendron or tulip tree and two centuries-old red beeches. Squirrels, robins and woodpeckers are the regulars here. Above the shadowed moat the blue kingfisher might be glimpsed darting by. Across the moat are lanes of beeches with patches of moss and lilies vallies and paths in beech and oak forests designed for strolls by wealthy citizens centuries ago. Holly trees in the undergrowth signal the old age of the forest soil. Sheep and horses tend the meadows. Towards the south, hikers reach a rare remnant of wet forest, the cut and resprouted trunks of alder and ash covered by peat moss and ferns. Deer and hares may run off through the trees. Nearby, a neglected old landscaped park with a large pond is a refuge to woodpeckers, hawks and pine martens. Further south one walks into the oak and pine treas on the drier Veluwe's sandy hills.
