During the CORONA/COVID-19 pandemic period, we can host you including meals. Be welcome and feel at home in our 13th century castle ! Feel the 800 years of charm and history. In Castle  all your worries seem very far away.In the 3rd floor under the attic, we can accommodate you in one of our 3 large guest rooms, which can be reached through the (separate from the rest of the castle) medieval sandstone spiral staircase (50 steps). All rooms have a cozy, authentic antique furnishing including ensuite bathrooms. All rooms have a stunning view on the surrounding gardens, forest and meadows. Wander during daytime through our atmosphere authentically furnished rooms, secret passages, towers and vaults, Admire the beautiful antique furniture, paintings, sculptures, carvings, porcelain, etc. from the 17-19e century, eg. In the Red Room with a round table donated by Princess Beatrix. Fresh flowers and plants decorations complement the cozy homely feel.

Nature and surroundings

Outside the castle there is plenty to do and see. The Castle is situated in the pretty typical Achterhoeks forest and pastures landscape. There are also various walking and cycling routes. For example, the famous Pieterpad, a walking tour from the very north of Netherlands to the very South. Cycling tours include the famous (100year old) Eight Castles Route, of which the Vorden is the most famous. A little further away (15 km) is the national Parc De Hoge Veluwe. Also a visit to picturesque towns such as Zutphen , Deventer and Bronckhorst is a must. Larger cities like Arnhem and Apeldoorn with their own features are approximately 30-45 minutes away.The village of Vorden is around 300m away with all the shops (supermarkets, butchers, etc.) and 6 restaurants. Bicycles can be rented as well. There is a train station at 800m from the castle. A swimming pool is also at 800m. A tenniscourt, Squash court and a sportsclub (fitness) are at 1.5km.
