The house is from 1960 and designed by an famous icelandic arcitect Sigvaldi Thordarson. It is cosy and welcoming with a big kitchen in the middle of the house. From there you can go out on a terrace and down from there to the alnd. The house is bright and with high ceilings making the feeling of an free athmosphere. There is a beautiful view from the windows. The living room is a few steds up from the kitchen and has got a TV and piano for music loving people. There are five bedrooms all together in the house, one is rather big and two others, smaller ones, also in the korridor from the kitchen. The WC is brand new, very cosy and practical. Downstairs there is one bedroom and a washing machine. There is a door out from there. The house is well designed, not luxury but simple and nice. I, the owner, will often be at home so we share the kitchen and WC.

The house is situated just outside a tiny village named Hvanneyri. Borgarnes, the nearest town where there are shops etc., is ca. 15 minutes drive away. The nature and view all around the house is breathtaking. Beneath the house there is a big land all the way to Hvítá/Borgarfjörður which is a preservative land for birds. There is peace and quiet but still not far away to go to places of interest. The mountain Skessuhorn watches over the area and in good weather you can see Snæfellsjökull on Snæfellsnes. The nature surrounding the house is with trees, rocks and beautiful flowers. In the winter there are a lot of northers light on clear skies. Not far away is an old country swimming pool. Skorradals lake is ca. 10 minutes away.
