A remote nature house in an old "fäbod" dating from 1650 in Southern Dalarna. Here you are far from civilisation: it's more than five kilometres in any direction to nearest electricity and even more to the ordinary roads, and you live a simple, almost primitive life. You get water from spring well, get heating from the stove (or gas backup), cook on a fire or gas stove, and light up the cottage with kerosine lamps, and keep you food cold in a hole in the ground. The cottage has two beds in the big room, two short (1.80 beds) in the kitchen. During summer you can drive all the way to the cottage, during winter you have to walk a few 100 meters. The cottage is rented as is. You need to bring linnen, towels, food, and drinking water on your own. Gas is provided and a reasonably amount of fire wood. In august you can stay a week for free if you manage the yearly meadow scything of 0.5 ha.

The cottage lies deep into the forests of Southern Dalarna, just next to the nature reserve Gyllbergen (500 mamsl), where you can trek and ski in a protected forest and mire landscape. It belongs to a so called "fäbod", where farmers used to take their animal for gracing during summer. It is in a very well kept "fäbod" with only non painted log housed. The meadow is treated old style and contains a large number of rare flowers and meadow mushrooms. It is connected to an old forest treated with continuous forestry methods. The cottage can be used year round. Spring is lovely with wood anemone all over the place. Summer is the period of flowers and cloud berry. Fall is strong colours and mushroom picking. Winter is x-country skiing and carnivore tracking. Wolf, lynx and wolverine tracks are often found near the cottage.
