The vacation home is a unique "off Grid" eco-property located in the beautiful Sierra de las Nieves mountains, about an hour from Malaga airport. The National Park is literally behind the house and offers direct access to many walks and trails without having to drive anywhere. The guesthouse is perfectly located for anyone who loves nature and an outdoor lifestyle, as we are right in the center of the Sierra de Las Nieves biosphere in a beautiful and unique location where the only sounds are the birds, the wind and the occasional horseback or mountain bike rider passing through the recently upgraded National Park. Our home is a great base for exploring the area; Hiking, Horseback Riding, Mountain Biking, Bird Watching, and Painting are some of the many activities that can be enjoyed here. At Finca Las Morenas, we try to do everything we can to ensure that they do as much as possible to conserve resources and be as energy efficient as possible.

Apart from a few villages, which form a rural mountain community, this isolated area is largely uninhabited and has seen very little human influence or activity, such as agricultural cultivation. For this reason, it has an unusually rich variety of native flora (pine, spruce, ash, chestnut, wild olive and oak trees, as well as juniper) and fauna, including mountain goat and muflon. As its name suggests, the park is sometimes covered with snow in winter. The area was studied in the 19th century by Swiss botanist Edmond Boissier and in 1933 by Spanish botanist Luis Ceballos. The park was declared a national hunting reserve in 1970 and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1995. Activities available, including mountain climbing and horseback riding.
