The detached house is built on an old wooded bank and is located on the outskirts of the village of Schipborg, in the middle of the nature reserve of the Drentsche Aa. From the spacious south-facing terrace you have an unobstructed view of the ash tree. About 500 meters away is the café De Drentsche Aa, where you can enjoy the beautiful view and a delicious cup of coffee with a Drents peat. The house itself is fully equipped and is located on a cul-de-sac with little car traffic. In our library the nature and culture lover will find a wealth of information on flora and fauna, as well as the cultural history of Drenthe. You can rent the house for one to three weeks (Fri-Fri or Mon-Mon), a weekend (Fri-Mon) or a midweek (Mon-Fri). It is equipped to accommodate adults and has 2 single beds on the upper floor. There is also a toilet there. The bathroom is downstairs. Pets are welcome. The garden is fully fenced and also safe for smaller dogs.

The Drentsche Aa National Park invites you to take walks and bike rides. Parts of this landscape include the Strubben/Kniphorstbos, the Gasterse Duinen, the Ballooërveld and old esdorpen like Gasteren, Anderen or Loon. In Anloo is the oldest church (ca 1100) in Drenthe, the St Magnus Church. The Strubben/Kniphorstbos the first and only archaeological reserve in the Netherlands with dolmens, burial mounds and cart tracks from past centuries. Along the village of Schipborg run several hiking and cycling routes (including the LAW 14 and the Drenthe Path). A short distance away you will find the Boomkroonpad, the Hunebedcentrum and the memorial center "Westerbork". For shopping you can go around the corner on Saturdays and Wednesdays at the organic store "Eigen Erf" or at one of the three supermarkets in Zuidlaren. When the weather is less beautiful, you can visit, for example, the Drents Museum in Assen or Groningen-city, with its Martini Tower, the Grote Markt and the Groninger Museum.
